When mornings are busy but you still want to fuel your body properly, having a simple go-to breakfast makes all the difference. One of my favourites is what I call “Pro Oats.” It’s quick to make, packed with nutrients, and keeps you full and energised for the day ahead.
This breakfast is a great balance of protein, healthy fats, slow-release carbohydrates, and recovery support, which makes it ideal whether you’re heading to the gym, starting a busy workday, or recovering from a tough training session.
The oats provide steady energy thanks to their wholegrain carbohydrates. The natural yoghurt and protein powder give a strong protein boost to support muscle repair and keep you feeling satisfied. Flaxseed oil adds healthy fats that help with overall wellbeing, while the additional supplements help support recovery, strength, and healthy hair, skin, and nails.
I like to finish it with raspberries and a small amount of fruit for natural sweetness and colour, along with a drizzle of squeezeable peanut butter for a little extra flavour and healthy fat. It’s simple, delicious, and takes only a few minutes to prepare.
This is one of those breakfasts that works really well if you’re focused on strength, body sculpting, or competition prep, but it’s also perfect for anyone wanting a nutritious and satisfying start to the day.
Ingredients
1/3 cup wholegrain oats
4 heaped tablespoons protein natural yoghurt
1 tablespoon flaxseed oil
Sportsfuel supplements
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1 teaspoon creatine (recovery and power support)
2 teaspoons marine collagen (supports hair and nails)
1 teaspoon glutamine (muscle recovery)
Toppings
1/3 cup frozen raspberries (thawed in microwave)
1 tablespoon chopped fruit to decorate
1 teaspoon squeezeable peanut butter
Method
Add the oats, yoghurt, flaxseed oil and supplements into a bowl.
Mix everything together until well combined.
Microwave the frozen raspberries until softened and stir them through or place on top.
Add the chopped fruit for colour and freshness.
Finish with a small drizzle of squeezeable peanut butter.
A quick, balanced breakfast that supports training, recovery, and overall wellbeing.
