About Caro
PĀPĀMOA PERSONAL TRAINER & STRENGTH COACH
My journey in bodybuilding began in the late 1990s, when I studied for the New Zealand Certificate in Fitness while stepping onto the competition stage for the first time. What started as a passion quickly became a lifelong commitment to strength, discipline, and personal growth.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Late 1990s
My passion for bodybuilding started in the late 1990s while studying for the New Zealand Certificate in Fitness at Waikato University. From the very beginning, I was driven to understand the body, train with purpose, and build lasting strength.
2001
First major win
I claimed my first title at the NABBA Figure Bay of Plenty Championships and went on to place fourth in New Zealand. This milestone confirmed that bodybuilding would become a lifelong pursuit.
2004–2005
A new chapter
After several years of competing, I stepped away from the stage and welcomed my daughter, Jemma, in 2005 — a moment that reshaped my priorities and perspective.
2009
The setback that tested everything
A serious foot injury in Fiji resulted in chronic nerve pain and forced an unexpected eleven-year break from weight training. This period taught me patience, adaptability, and the importance of training smarter — lessons that now shape how I coach every client.
2020
The comeback
Through strategic, intelligent training, I returned to bodybuilding stronger than ever and re-entered competition. The comeback reinforced my belief that it is never too late to rebuild strength.
2022
Competing naturally
I began competing with ICN New Zealand, drawn to their “I Compete Natural” philosophy and the high calibre of athletes. Since then, I have proudly won every 50+ category I’ve entered nationally.
2023
Representing New Zealand
I was honoured to join the New Zealand Oceania team, competing alongside outstanding athletes and continuing to expand my knowledge of training, nutrition, and stage presentation.
2024
Earning my Pro Qualifier
At the World Natural Games, I was awarded a Pro Qualifier card — one of the proudest moments of my competitive career and a reflection of decades of commitment.
2025
Oceania Pro/Am
Most recently, I represented Team New Zealand at the Oceania Pro/Am, continuing to challenge myself while deepening my expertise within the sport.
Today
Coaching the next generation of strong women
After years of writing my own programmes and managing my own training and nutrition, I felt called to share what I’ve learned. Today, I coach women who want to feel stronger, healthier, and more confident — whether they are preparing for the stage or simply ready to reclaim their strength.
Because age is never a barrier. Strength is something you build.
